One of my dream countries to go to is Korea. I have been a fan of the Korean culture just by watching Korean dramas. Finally, I was able to visit and tour Korea for 7 days this last week October.
I want to highly recommend the guesthouse where we stayed which is Duriworld Guesthouse in Hongdae and how to go there from the airport.

WHY SHOULD YOU STAY AT DURIWORLD GUESTHOUSE
-It is very affordable. I spent 90,000 won for staying from Oct 25 to Nov 1,2016.
-The place is highly accessible since it is situated in Hongdae and the train station is a 5 to 7 minute walk. Even at night, you can easily walk around Hongdae to eat, shop, or just sightsee. We went several times to Hongdae to eat since they have shops open even late at night.
-Breakfast is included in the accommodation. It is buffet style so you can prepare your own sandwich, cook your eggs the way you want, and make your food your own style.
-The staff are very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Here is Grace, who is one of the staff, with us who posed for our last day in Seoul.
HOW TO GET THERE
1. The easiest way to the guesthouse is via train. From the airport, we chose the All Stop train which is more cheaper but if you have luggage(s), you can try the AREX where you can sit.
Probably, you have read everywhere that riding a train in Seoul is very easy. It was too in our case. Although Korean are not that good in English, they are courteous. They don't push people just to get inside the train.
2. Remember, the destination is Hongik University Station.
Get off at that station and take Exit 2.
3. Upon exit, this is what you should see facing you across the street, a Samsung store. Don't cross the street to go to Samsung.

4. Instead turn left, walk straight until you reach a pedestrian lane.
5. When you crossed the pedestrian lane, turn left and walk straight until you reach Kkanbu Chicken on your right, turn right.
6. When you turned right, just walk straight a bit more for 3 minutes until you see a Mini Stop. Cross the street to where Ministop is.
7. Just on the left of Ministop, Duriworld is located. It was not that hard to reach this even at night.

The place is really wonderful. I had a great experience. It was somewhat living in a Korean home. Hope you can try Duriworld Guesthouse when you visit Seoul. (This is not a paid ad)
